Summer Intensive
Our Ballet Summer Intensive Program offers ballet training for children and teenagers from 9 to 19 years of age. The choreography program follows the superior standards set by the time-honoured Vaganova syllabus. Summer Intensive classes are taught by Ms. Victoria Mironova, founder of Victoria Ballet Academy, as well as prominent guest-teachers.
DATES: July 23 to August 10, 2012.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 – stretching
11:00 – ballet
12:00 – lunch
13:00 – repertoire: La Bayadere, Le Corsair, and The Nutcracker
TEACHERS: Victoria Mironova Elena Dmitrieva Guest teacher from St. Petersburg or Kiev Russian ballet star Anton Korsakov, Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg, Russia
WEEKEND TRIPS: Niagara falls, Skylon Tower restaurant for dinner Ontario Lake islands, lunch Simco Lake, lunch
COST: Ballet Intensive program: $900 Home-stay: $900 (transportation to and from Pearson International Airport, meals are also included) Weekend trips: $300 Kids Summer Camp is available for younger children. Targeted academic tutoring in English and other subjects can be arranged by request, for $1100 during the same three weeks. Students can also obtain credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Please contact us for more details and reservations, as space is limited. The school is conveniently located in Thornhill at the intersection of Centre Street and Yonge Street, just on the edge of three of York Region municipalities – Markham, Vaughan and Richmond Hill, just north of Toronto.
