Advanced adult students may join our Pre-Professional and Professional Groups.

Classes Description

 

Beginners Ballet Class

Our Adult Beginners class is a great way to be introduced to basic ballet exercises both at the barre and at the centre. After a good stretching and warm up session, students learn the basic positions, ballet terminology, and simple dance routines. Ballet for beginners is a great way to condition and strengthen your muscles, improve your concentration, coordination and grace, among many other benefits. This class takes place from September to June on Saturdays at 1:00  p.m. (1 hr. class). If you have never practiced ballet this is the perfect opportunity to begin!  You can join at any time.

Continuing / Intermediate Ballet Class

For Continuing/Intermediate students, our adult ballet drop-in class times are: Saturdays at 1 PM and Wednesdays at 7 PM (1.5 hours).

Our Intermediate Adult Ballet program focuses on furthering and putting to use your ballet knowledge. When clients feel they are ready to graduate from the Beginner Adult Ballet program we welcome them to the next level of ballet training. In this class we start with a warm up, after which we begin the ballet class with barre, and center work, jumps, ballet technique, and finish the class with some basic pointe work. This class is perfect for those who have some ballet experience and are ready for a challenge. Intermediate Adult Ballet: Wednesdays 7 to 8:30 PM and Saturdays 1 to 2:30 PM.

 

Signature Ballet Body Class

At BALLET BODY we are transforming your workout, your body, and mind! Our team of Toronto’s top ballet and fitness professionals have created a program that maximizes the benefits of a workout by the unique fusion of ballet, pilates, and endurance training. With regular training you can expect to develop long, lean muscles, weight loss, fix posture, and develop flexibility.

There is no uniform required for adult ballet classes. You can wear tights and a leotard, yoga pants or any other type of form-fitting dancewear. You will also need ballet slippers for this class. A yoga mat for exercises on the floor is recommended. We invite you to visit our Dancewear Shop located in the same building of Victoria International Ballet Academy. You will find ballet shoes and other items at a discounted price for our students.
