This year’s Cinderella by Victoria Ballet Company will welcome the wonderful Tyler Gledhill into our roster in his first performance as the Prince in our production. He is joining Elizaveta Mironova, who performs the role of the princess, and together they will create the kind of graceful magic only found in real ballet. Their duet is a rare opportunity to witness the most wonderful high lifts which are scarcely found in modern ballet. Their skill level is matched by their harmony as a dancing couple. Cinderella is full of complex and demanding choreography, which, performed by Elizaveta and Tyler, will delight even the most demanding audience.
Elizaveta Mironova has graduated from Victoria International Ballet Academy’s day school, and continued on to the National Ballet School of Ukraine (Kiev) and later the Vaganova Ballet Academy (St. Petersburg, Russia) to upgrade her skills farther. She has performed on the stage of the National Opera of Ukraine and on Ontario stages, performing in the Nutcracker, Cinderella, the Sleeping Beauty and other ballets. Elizaveta shared the First Prize of the Odessa International Ballet Competition in Ukraine, in June 2012, with Anastasia Loskutov. She has also represented Canada in international competitions in Beijing, China.
By her 18th birthday she had acquired the wide repertory of a classical ballerina, including Princess Aurora, Lilac Fairy and Princess Florine of Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Mary/Claire of the Nutcracker, Giselle, Esmeralda, and Nikia of La Bayadere.
Since November 2014, when she joined the Moscow State Ballet, Elizaveta has toured around the world and became a leading ballerina of the company. In February 2015, after her tour in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, she came to Canada to perform the role of Cinderella with the Victoria ballet Company.
Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Tyler Gledhill trained at The National Ballet School in Toronto, Het National Ballet academie in Amsterdam, and The Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. While in school he was presented with the Peter Dwyer Scholarship for the Performing Arts and the Lawrence Hasket Memorial Award.
He began his career in The Netherlands with Intordans, touring throughout Europe and Asia. Next he danced with The Göteborg Ballet and Cullberg Ballet in Sweden. For his role in DA Hoskins’ PARIS1994\Gallery in 2010, Tyler was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for outstanding performance in a dance show.
