This time Ottawa was the centre of our ballet student’s thoughts and excitement as they were anxiously waiting for the presentation of La Bayadere by the Mariinski Theatre. A trip to Ottawa to enjoy what they love best, with special backstage access after a mesmerizing performance, pictures with some of the dancers, skating on the Rideau Canal and a comfortable stay at the Marriot Hotel, was all part of this unforgettable experience. And the joy didn’t end there; once back in Toronto our students were invited and attended a rehearsal of The Swan Lake ballet, performed by the Mariinsky (Kirov) company at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Dear Parents and Friends: International Ballet Academy of Canada is very proud to announce that our graduating students have obtained excellent results after applying for admission to the top universities in the country. Having received the best academic instruction in a safe, caring, yet at the same time challenging environment our students have once again demonstrated that hard work pays off. On May 15, 2011, our first six graduating students, and our advanced professional students took their final examination in front of an international panel of examiners, including distinguished personalities from the world of Ballet such as Mr. Vladilen Semenov, principal dancer with the Kirov Ballet in St. Petersburg and teacher of Mrs. Victoria Mironova at the Vaganova Ballet Academy, presently teacher at American Ballet Theater. They were all greatly satisfied with what they saw and gave all of our dancers excellent reviews given their display of talent and great technique.
