Anna Rybalko, Ballet Teacher:

“Dance is a fun and extreamly useful activity for the physical and phsychological development. It is great for the child’s body, as our classes provide stretching, jumps, games, simple dance movements and the introduction to the basics of ballet. Dance also nurishies the child’s concentration, the ability to think and react fast, and discipline for the future years. Dance classes can help a child get better at their school work/studies. It will influence positively the child’s behavior at school and at home. Dancing for a young child can be a wonderful way to get physical activity, advance in the skills of mind. It helps unwind the child’s unique individuality.’

Remembering that your child started walking not so long ago, we show them that the world of movement is exciting and promising. Parents are always a little surprised and somewhat delighted when their children show a dedication and a commitment that seems beyond their children‘s years. We help both children and their parents stay motivated.

Children, in most cases, begin dance classes when dance is an activity chosen by their parents. In just one year your child will be ready for a more advanced program. In December, parents are invited to observe their child’s progress during the open lesson.

On December 18, 19 and 20, 2009, the older students of the school will perform in the Nutcracker. The younger students are welcome to attend the performance as this will contribute to their artistic education and willingness to learn the dance. They will participate in the school recital held in May or June, such as the ballet “Cinderella” or the Gala Concert.

By having all groups appear on the theatre stage, whether or not they are ready as dancers, we are encouraging them to explore their vivid imagination and dream of someday becoming ballet dancers or ballerinas.

The Monday, Wednesday and Friday 30 minutes ballet classes (3:30 pm) belong to our Kindergarten program. Children who do not attend the Kindergarten, may join these ballet classes.

Additionally, our staff teaches at the Kid’s Island Day Care Centre.
