The Victoria Ballet Academy is an independent Canadian school registered with the Ministry of Education of Ontario under number 667420.

The Academy develops children to their highest potential academically, professionally and socially. The proven methods of traditional European academic systems are used at the school. Small teacher to student ratios, a unique curriculum and an earnest, thoughtful atmosphere foster an opportunity for academic excellence and development of learning and life skills. Our students become creative, healthy and active members of society. We guarantee high educational standards. A balance of intellectual and physical work is considered necessary to stimulate creativity and a healthy lifestyle. Ballet is a powerful tool contributing to our students’ development and their stronger education but it may become a lifetime endeavour.

Admission to the Professional Choreographic Program (grades 5-12) requires that the student be a minimum of 9 years of age who have passed an audition in ballet. The professional education is thoroughly blended with the Academic education at the Middle School and High School level. The main task of the school is the best academic education.

Admission to the elementary academic program (grade 1) requires that the student be a minimum of 5 years of age. The elementary program is designed for children who have passed an audition in which they have shown promising results for admittance to the Professional Choreographic Program. Preparatory choreographic knowledge and understanding of the ballet and related arts are taught in grades one through four. These grades are considered an ongoing audition process for the candidates.

Admission to the Pre-school program (grades JK and SK) is open for all children who have no impairment preventing from engaging in active physical exercise.
Successful students of the Academy will graduate from Grade 12 with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma and with a Diploma of a Ballet Artiste. The courses meet all Diploma requirements set out by the Ministry of Education Ontario; though, they are enhanced according to the proven methods of the European academic systems.
