Ballet Theatre of St. Petersburg, Russia, in Toronto

The L. Jacobson State Ballet Theatre of St. Petersburg, Russia, has given the only performance at Toronto Metro Convention Centre, March 12, 2010. Next day, the company traveled to the USA. The day before the performance, the company had stayed at Victoria Ballet Academy for a lengthy rehearsal and a good warm up after their long travel to Canada. Students of Victoria Ballet Academy (both the day school and the recreational devisions) had a wonderful opportunity to communicate with the Russian ballet dancers and their dance and life experience.
At Toronto Metro Convention Centre, the company showcased Pas de Quatr, The Portrait in Red, Wedding Cortege, Rodin, Italian Capriccio, Bolero, Passions by Carmen. Artistic Director: Juriy Petukhov. Students of Victoria Ballet Academy, again, supported the dancers with applauds and flowers. It was a wonderful and inspiring ballet performance.
